In one sentence

ZTL Italia helps you notice a ZTL zone before you drive into it — it does not replace road signs. The driver remains responsible for complying with traffic rules, and road signs always prevail over the app.

Who we are

ZTL Italia (the “app”) is provided by 2Alfa, trgovina in storitve, d.o.o., a limited liability company registered in Slovenia, with its registered office at Podbreg 32, 4280 Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. Registration number: 8144290000. VAT number: SI 37315374. Contact: info@2alfa.org.

These Terms apply to the app on iOS and Android and to ztl-italia.com.

What ZTL Italia is

ZTL Italia is an independent reference app. It shows restricted traffic zones (ZTL) in Italian cities and towns and can alert you as you approach one.

We are not affiliated with any municipality, police force or other public authority. The app is not an official source of traffic rules.

The app helps you plan and pay attention. It does not replace road signs or the official information published by municipalities.

Zone data and its limits

Zone boundaries and schedules are compiled from publicly available sources, such as municipal websites and published maps, and from our own research. This information may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Municipalities change zones, schedules and exemptions, sometimes without notice.

Not every ZTL in Italy is covered. The covered cities are listed in the app, and the list grows with updates. We do not promise to add a particular city by a particular date.

Where a schedule is not confirmed, the app treats the zone as active at all times and asks you to check the signs at the entrance. The app does not know whether you hold a permit or qualify for an exemption.

Access rules can also differ by season, day, time of day and entry gate. If you are unsure, check the Comune’s official website or ask the local police (Polizia Locale) before driving in.

Zone and parking data are based on OpenStreetMap: © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The map is provided by Mapbox: © Mapbox, © OpenStreetMap. See openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Alerts

Alerts are an aid, not a guarantee. They depend on your device’s location accuracy, its operating system, your settings and permissions, battery-saving features and Focus or Do Not Disturb modes.

An alert may arrive late or not at all, for example with poor GPS reception, when background location is turned off, or when the operating system stops the app.

In the free version, alerts work only in the free cities listed in the app. Pro enables alerts in all covered cities.

Your responsibility as a driver

You are responsible for complying with Italian traffic rules, including the access rules of every ZTL you enter. Road signs and official information always prevail over the app. When in doubt, do not drive in.

Fines and other penalties for traffic violations are imposed by the competent authorities on the driver or the vehicle owner.

Do not handle the app while driving. Set it up before you start, or let a passenger use it. The app is designed to work in the background, so your attention can stay on the road.

Free version and Pro

The app is free to download. The free version works in full in the free cities listed in the app.

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks all covered cities, including cities added in later updates.

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms, and refunds are handled by the store under its policies.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if the app does not match what was agreed.

Our liability

We build the app with care, but we cannot guarantee that the data is always complete, correct and current, or that every alert arrives.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for fines, penalties or other losses resulting from a traffic violation that could have been avoided by observing road signs and traffic rules.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, under product liability law, or where liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy

The app uses your location to show zones and send alerts. Zone checks run on your device.

The map is provided by Mapbox. The Mapbox map software may send anonymised location and usage data to Mapbox; you can switch this off in the map’s attribution menu (ⓘ).

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to the app and to these Terms

We update the app regularly, including its zone data and features.

We may change these Terms. The current version is always published on this page with its date. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app. Changes will not take away features you have already paid for.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of Slovenia or of the country where you live.

Before going to court, please contact us: most issues can be solved by email.
