Privacy Policy

In one sentence

We don't track you, we don't collect your personal data, and we don't use analytics or advertising cookies. This page explains exactly what that means and what little data is technically involved in running the site.

Who we are

This website (ztl-italia.com) is operated by 2Alfa d.o.o., an independent commercial entity. The site exists to provide information about Italy's ZTL (Zona a Traffico Limitato) zones and to promote our Android application of the same name. You can reach us at info@2alfa.org.

We are not affiliated with any Italian government agency, municipality, police force, or official ZTL enforcement body.

What data we do not collect

For the avoidance of any doubt, the following are not done on this website:

Technical data necessarily involved

Operating any website on the modern internet involves some unavoidable technical data exchange. Here's what is involved in your visit to ztl-italia.com:

Hosting and security (Cloudflare). The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. When you visit, Cloudflare receives your IP address and standard browser request metadata (user agent, requested URL, timing). This is used for delivering pages, protecting against attacks, and basic security. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies (such as __cf_bm) for bot management. These cookies are classified as "strictly necessary" under EU ePrivacy guidance and do not require consent. Cloudflare's privacy practices are documented at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Web fonts (Google Fonts). The site loads Fraunces and EB Garamond fonts from Google's font CDN (fonts.googleapis.com). When fonts are requested, your IP address is briefly visible to Google. Google has stated that no cookies are set by their font CDN and that the data is not used for advertising profiling. If you prefer, you can disable web fonts in your browser settings — the site remains fully readable in default system fonts.

Language preference. When you select a language using the switcher, the choice is reflected in the URL (e.g. ?lang=fr). No cookie or localStorage value is set for this purpose. If you return to the site without the URL parameter, the page tries to match your browser's language; otherwise it defaults to English.

Server logs. Cloudflare maintains short-term logs of requests for security and debugging purposes. These logs may include IP addresses but are retained only for a limited period (typically days, not months) and are not made accessible to us beyond aggregated, anonymous statistics.

Third-party links

This site contains links to third-party websites — most notably Google Play for downloading our application, and various Italian government and information sites referenced in our guide article. Once you leave ztl-italia.com, the privacy practices of those websites apply. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.

The ZTL Italia mobile application

This privacy policy covers only the website ztl-italia.com. The ZTL Italia Android application has its own separate privacy disclosures, available through Google Play's Data Safety section. The app may collect location data (necessary for its core function of warning you near ZTL zones), but no personal identifiers, no contacts, no analytics tied to your identity. Full details are in the Google Play listing.

Your rights under GDPR

Even though we don't actively collect personal data, you have rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding any data that might pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure (such as your IP in temporary logs). These include:

To exercise any of these rights, contact info@2alfa.org.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this site to include analytics, tracking, or any other personal-data processing, we will update this policy and — where required by law — display a consent banner before any such tracking begins. For now, you can browse freely without one because there is genuinely nothing to consent to.
